About The Role
Execute Compliance Monitoring and Assurance reviews, establish mitigation plans together with risk owners and perform tracking, analysis and reporting of the outcome of the reviews with action plans to ensure compliance. Participate in new and change initiatives, introduction of new products, services or systems and identify potential compliance risks and provide control recommendations. Lead and manage the team to interface and support regulatory compliance related activities for the company.
Responsibilities
Skills and Competencies:

Ensure diligent execution of the Compliance Monitoring and Assurance Plan by conducting independent thematic reviews in a timely manner and add value to the Group by objectively reviewing and reporting on the adequacy and effectiveness of compliance controls.

Identify, log and monitor Compliance Issues. Proactively partner with the business to complete remediation work through to completion within the required deadlines. Produce regular metrics and programme status updates as and when needed.

Prepare and publish assurance reports for the stakeholders to have visibility on the open compliance risk items.

Provide periodic assurance and review progress summary to senior management and stakeholders.

Proactively monitor changes in regulatory environment, changes in regulations and standards and help communicate and train the rest of the organization.

Key member of escalation and investigation teams to understand, interpret and provide guidance on the required compliance actions and measures.

Promoting a good compliance culture and assisting the business in complying with relevant laws regulations and NI’s policies & procedures.

Conduct forward-looking regulatory risk assessment across the company entities periodically to analyse and evaluate the risks to identify the areas where assurance is required.

Ensures records are maintained in a constant state of audit readiness per internal policies.

Review standard operating procedures and process notes to identify procedural risks and recommend compensating controls.

Act as subject matter expert for specific areas of regulation providing support and guidance on requirements and overseeing the firm’s control environment. Being the lead for Compliance in terms of preparation Consultative Papers.

Drive process improvement and automation within Compliance function

Responsible for reporting and maintaining of relevant database / MIS / records etc.

Participate in new initiatives (e.g., product, services, solutions, system launches, etc.) to identify compliance risks arising out of changes, recommend suitable controls and identify, assess, control and monitor compliance risks.

Providing support and advice to the business to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and other applicable international regulation.

Providing support and guidance on local jurisdiction regulatory issues to staff within each office while conducting ongoing monitoring of their operations.

Undertaking reviews, deep dives and assessments of business line compliance particularly with new regulatory obligations.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Risk Management / Finance / Management Information Systems / Business Administration.

Relevant experience in banking, financial services or payment services. Exposure to banking operations, payments, card operations, merchant acquiring operations with reasonable experience in compliance assurance and monitoring, audit and risk, process management.

Ability to interact with critical business unit managers and executives regarding compliance plans, strategies, and progress towards implementing controls to ensure compliance.

Focused attitude to work with the ability to constantly meet deadlines while ensuring attention to detail, and high level of accuracy.

Good PC skills (Microsoft Excel and Word essential – PowerPoint useful).

Good understanding of regulatory obligations in payments and MEA
-
Strong interpersonal skills used within a team environment.

Pro-active and self-starter who can work with limited supervision.

Experience of what/when to escalate.
