Key Responsibilities
1. Contract & Document Governance
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents (e.g., commercial contracts, financial agreements, corporate governance documents) to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and business objectives.
• Develop and maintain standardized protocols for legal document review and template libraries to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
2. Legal Risk Mitigation
• Provi
d
e comprehensive legal support to business units, including legal feasibility assessments and dispute resolution.
• Deliver risk assessment reports and actionable mitigation strategies to senior management, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
3. Litigation & Regulatory Engagement
• Manage litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations (if applicable), coordinating with external counsel to minimize penalties.
• Prepare legally substantiated responses to regulatory bodies and maintain records of legal proceedings.
4. Team Leadership & Training
• Mentor junior legal staff and manage external legal resources.
• Conduct legal training programs on data privacy and sanctions avoidance strategies.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in
Law
(LLB/JD); active legal practice certification;
•
7+ years of legal experience
in financial institutions/law firms, with
3+ years in managerial roles
;
• Expertise in
financial legal documentation
is highly preferable;
• Familiarity with asset management agreement or fund documentations is preferable;
• Knowledge of the Securities and Futures Ordinance, SFC rules and regulations;
• Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office application including Word and Excel.
