Manager, Distribution Compliance

Manulife Distribution Compliance team in Hong Kong is responsible for ensuring that sales activities conducted by agents, brokers, and bank partners adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards. The team provides compliance oversight, conducts monitoring and investigations, and offers guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices.
Manulife Hong Kong is seeking a Manager, Distribution Compliance to provide compliance support for matters relating to Hong Kong Distribution Operations (“DO”).
Position Responsibilities

Drive necessary changes for DO to comply with evolving compliance and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong and Macao (including IA, MPFA, and the Monetary Authority of Macao).

Assist in conducting investigations on distributors and recommend appropriate disciplinary actions.

Liaise with local regulators and law enforcement agencies, including handling regulatory enquiries.

Provide practical and sound compliance advice and support on DO’s business initiatives, as required.

Conduct compliance monitoring and testing on distributor conduct and DO’s internal controls.

Review and draft compliance communications and training materials; deliver training sessions as required.

Assists senior level team members with tasks and assignments as needed

Assist in compliance-related projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification, preferably in investigation, internal audit, law, or related disciplines.

Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, investigations, internal audit, or legal roles within the financial services industry.

Sound knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements; experience in dealing with regulatory authorities is an advantage

Experience with data analytics, database tools, dashboards, and SharePoint maintenance is an asset

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence stakeholders.

Ability to work independently under deadlines.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable.

Practical knowledge of data analytics for compliance monitoring and reporting.

Strong data visualization skills and ability to manage and maintain data and documents in SharePoint.

Proficient in English and Chinese.
